An international footballer has been arrested on suspicion of assault and affray.
The 29-year-old player was taken into custody by police following an incident in London's West End.
According to police, the incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday.
The player, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested on suspicion of two counts of assault and one count of affray.
Police state the alleged victim was taken to hospital and received treatment for injuries they believed were not life-changing or life-threatening.
A statement from the Met Police said: "Police were called to Wardour Street, W1 at 00:47hrs on Saturday, 6 December following reports of an assault.
"The victim was taken to hospital and his injuries are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.
