LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
The Louisville Metro Police Department has released the names of two officers involved in a deadly shooting last week.
The shooting happened in the 9000 block of Red Deer Circle around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.
LMPD said officers were responding to reports of a person pointing a gun at a woman.
The person who called in the incident gave a description of a white man with no shirt. During their investigation of the scene, officers located a man who matched the description and was holding a gun.
Police said officers told the man to drop the gun. They said two officers fired their weapons, hitting the man.
The man died at the scene. His name has not yet been released.
The two officers involved in the shooting have been identified as Michael Crowe and Austin Taylor.
