Louisville Metro Police officials disclosed Dec. 7 the names of the officers who fired the gunshots that killed a man at an apartment complex in Hurstborne Acres.

Documents released by LMPD show Michael Crowe and Austin Taylor on Dec. 4 fired at a man police officials said was armed in the 9000 block of Red Deer Circle. Years earlier Crowe was found in violation of LMPD policies in another police shooting.

Crowe, who joined LMPD in 2017 after three years with the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections, received a letter of reprimand in December 2022 following an investigation into his actions during a 2021 police shooting by a Walmart on Bashford Manor Lane.
