CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — The College of Charleston says it has terminated one of its public safety officers who was arrested on a pair of criminal charges Saturday night.
Robert Arnett, 34, is charged with assault with intent to commit first-degree criminal sexual conduct and misconduct in office, according to jail records.
Arnett was booked Saturday night into the Al Cannon Detention Center on the charges, which were filed by the Charleston Police Department, jail records state.
Court records state a judge set bond at a total of $125,000 on the two charges. Arnett was released after posting bond on Sunday.
In a statement, CofC leaders say the college is cooperating with Charleston Police.
