A person was killed in a fire at a condo building in Middleborough on Sunday, according to a statement from Middleborough Fire Chief Owen Thompson. Three people, including a firefighter, were hospitalized with injuries.
Firefighters responded to the fire at 172 Ashley Lane at around 9:51 a.m. for reports of a structure fire. They found smoke and flames coming from the first and second floors of the building at both the front and rear of the structure, the statement reads.
Boston 25 News posted aerial footage video on Facebook from the fire scene Sunday afternoon, showing firefighters battling flames and smoke billowing from a roof.
The fire also spread to adjacent buildings, which includes four units, and caused significant damages.
