HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Trade winds are forecast to become light southerlies by midweek as a cold front approaches from the northwest.
A First Alert is up for a brief round of showers from the front on Thursday, mainly for Kauai and Oahu. The front is forecast to stall just west of or possibly over Maui County before dissipating as it lifts to the north Friday.
Winds will remain on the light side into the weekend as forecast models hint at the potential for another front over the western islands early next week.
