In a major relief for actor Dileep, a Kerala court on Monday acquitted him in the 2017 actress assault case as the prosecution couldn’t prove the conspiracy charges against him.

The court, however, held the first to sixth accused guilty on charges of gangrape and criminal conspiracy. Their bail has been cancelled following the verdict.

The quantum of punishment will be pronounced on December 12.

Ernakulam District and Principal Sessions Judge Honey M. Varghese delivered the verdict after completing the trial proceedings, which began in January 2020.

Those found guilty are Sunil NS alias Pulsar Suni, Martin Antony, Manikandan B, Vijesh VP, Salim H and Pradeep.
