HICKORY, N.C. — One of the suspects in deadly mass shooting in Hickory over the summer will be back in front of a judge on Monday to discuss a possible bond.
Izaiah Mitchell is one of seven people charged in a deadly mass shooting at a Catawba County pool party on June 1.
Investigators say the attack was not random, but planned, gang-related and carried out by multiple shooters who fired more than 80 shots from an elevated hillside into a crowd of more than 100 people.
One person was killed and 11 others were hurt at the party in Mountain View, a small community in southwest Catawba County. Some of the rounds shot people, others hit homes and parked cars.
Mitchell faces charges for conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and 63 counts of attempted first-degree murder. Mitchell’s court
