BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Louisiana State Police says a two-vehicle crash on Sunday, Dec. 7, resulted in the death of 45-year-old man.

Troopers say they responded to the scene shortly before 6 p.m., on US 61 at Port Hudson Plains Road. The Zachary man, identified as Calvin Turner, suffered serious injuries in the crash and was taken to a local hospital where he died.

According to officials, the preliminary investigation revealed Turner was driving east on Port Hudson Plains Road, approaching a stop sign at the intersection of US 61. At the same time, a van was traveling south on US 61. For reasons still under investigation, authorities say Turner entered the intersection without yielding at the stop sign and collided with the southbound Ford.
