KINSTON, N.C. (WITN) - A man wanted in another state is facing new charges after a traffic stop in Kinston.

Police say just before 2:15 p.m. Sunday, officers conducted a traffic stop on East Highland Avenue.

During the stop, officers say they saw an open alcohol container and found out the driver, Darnell Foster, was wanted for a probation violation by the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia.

The 36-year-old man was arrested and taken to jail. There, he told officers he had crack cocaine on him and officers found the drugs.

Foster was charged with felony possession of cocaine, possession of a controlled substance on jail premises and out-of-state fugitive warrant.

He’s being held in the Lenoir County Jail under a secured bond.
