BAY VILLAGE, Ohio -- Mayor Paul Koomar, along with other local mayors, is notifying residents about a cybersecurity incident affecting OnSolve CodeRED.
The nationwide emergency alert platform is used by local municipalities to communicate with the public.
The breach affects the ReadyNotify application, which Cuyahoga County uses through a third-party contractor, Crisis24 .
County emergency management officials learned of the incident Dec. 3, raising concerns about the security of subscriber information.
While the full scope of the breach remains undisclosed, officials say the compromised data is limited to basic contact information stored in the ReadyNotify system .
This includes subscribers’ names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses and notification preferences.
