An inmate at the Pulaski County Detention Center died Monday after suffering a medical emergency inside the facility, according to a statement released by Jailer Anthony McCollum.

Deputy jailers and on-site medical staff responded immediately after the inmate showed signs of distress. The individual was transported by Somerset–Pulaski County EMS to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital for emergency treatment.
