A New Jersey drug maker is voluntarily recalling thousands of bottles of a prescription drug used to treat hypertension after discovering it could be cross-contaminated with another drug, The Hill reported .

The recall is for more than 11,100 bottles of bisoprolol fumarate and hydrochlorothiazide tablets under the brand name Ziac. Testing of reserve samples showed the presence of ezetimibe, a drug used for high cholesterol, The Hill reported.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) classified the recall with a Class lll risk level , suggesting that exposure to the medication is unlikely to cause health issues.
