BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY/JACKSON COUNTY– The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) reported at 7:50 Tuesday morning that Interstate 65 is shut down in both directions from Exit 64 in Bartholomew County to Exit 55 in Jackson County at Mile Marker 64.2.
A semi carrying explosive material caught fire, and it will take some time to render the material/scene safe.
The approximate timeline for reopening I-65 is four hours. Crews are rerouting drivers to US-11 or US-31.
Additionally, traffic is also closed on I-65 near the intersection of Redding Rd and IN 11 (4 miles north of the Seymour area). The road is closed due to a three-vehicle crash. All lanes are closed in the northbound direction of travel.
