Kent social media star Arron Crascall has lifted the lid on a gruelling 12-year battle with alcohol and substance addiction - admitting he repeatedly blacked out, lied to his family and lost control of his life before finding sobriety.
The Dover comedian, whose online sketches have helped him build a global audience of more than 26 million followers, said he has now been sober for two years and wants to use his story to help others in recovery.
His ambition, he revealed, is to open a round-the-clock community centre in his hometown, offering access to Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous and other support groups for anyone facing addiction.
The 43-year-old former William Hill worker’s rise to online fame began in 2014.
