After a few weeks of asking residents in the Chandler Unified School District what traits they want in their next superintendent, search firm Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates (HYA) released its leadership profile report on Nov. 21.

The group held public forums and surveyed parents, students and staff on exactly whom the district should look for in a replacement for retiring Superintendent Frank Narducci.

About 3,000 parents, 300 students and 500 staff responded to the surveys. In total, HYA received feedback from nearly 4,600 people.

The traits they value the most and want to see in the next CUSD superintendent: Integrity, honesty and ethical leadership; student-centered focus; strong communicator and skilled listener; and visible, accessible and present in schools and the community.
