New research shows many couples are against going to therapy, suggesting it signals your relationship is worse than it is.

Half of Brits in relationships have never contemplated couples therapy and have no intention of doing so, new research reveals. A survey of 2,000 adults found this figure climbed even higher among the older generation, with the option firmly ruled out by 75% of Baby Boomers. The research shows that Brits continue to attach negative stigma to therapy .

A quarter of all those surveyed believe couples therapy is exclusively for relationships "on the brink" or "in crisis", with 11% suggesting attending couples therapy would be the same as admitting they shouldn't be together. A further 15% of people are concerned that therapy could exacerbate their issues.
