A 37-year-old Guelph woman has been charged after two fire alarms were set off inside a mall and a defibrillator was stolen.
Guelph police said on Monday, just before 9 a.m., officers were patrolling inside the Old Quebec Street mall when a fire alarm was activated in the stairwell.
Police looked at security video and saw a woman in the immediate area just before the alarm sounded.
While officers were watching the video, a second alarm sounded in another area of the mall. A woman matching the suspect on video was found in the area of the second alarm and was arrested.
Officers said during a search they found a defibrillator which mall security confirmed was stolen.
