Turtle Back Zoo in West Orange is inviting visitors to go behind the scenes at its giraffe barn through a special educational program running from December through February.

The 30-minute guided tours will take guests through one of the zoo’s animal facilities, followed by a meet and greet with an animal keeper.

Tours are scheduled for Saturdays at 2 p.m., now through Feb. 28. All behind-the-scenes tours will take place at the giraffe barn.

Tickets cost $50 per person, with discounts available for zoo members.

Tours held in December include zoo admission with the ticket price. However, starting in 2026, zoo admission will be sold separately.

The program is designed for visitors ages 6 and older. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a ticketed adult.
