SEVIER COUNTY, Ark. (KSLA) - Inmates Nico Abner and Tommy Yarbourough escaped from the Sevier County jail Monday, Dec. 8.

They were recaptured within two hours at separate homes in DeQueen, Ark.

Sheriff Robert Gentry said jail security video shows the inmates going under one fence in the recreation yard and climbing a second razor wire fence to make their escape.

Gentry said the inmates appeared to have planned the escape in advance.

“I’m learning this morning that Yarbourough and Abner had their bunks fixed up like they were asleep, so I’m suspecting some planning in this, but they did go separate directions,” Gentry said.

The sheriff said fellow inmates in the pod did not alert authorities to the escape.
