OMAHA, Neb. —

A judge set bond for a local nonprofit worker on Tuesday.

Wallace Williams Jr. was arrested for forgery.

According to court documents, Heartland Family Service told law enforcement about Williams.

PREVIOUS COVERAGE:

Court documents alleged between 2019 and 2022, he fraudulently acquired vehicles from the nonprofit by falsely signing the titles.

He then allegedly sold the vehicles to Janis Peters, who also faces multiple counts of forgery.

Williams' bond was set at 10% of $25,000.

He is scheduled to be back in court on Jan. 5.

Williams has not worked at Heartland Family Services since the organization was made aware of alleged offenses in 2023.

While the investigation started in 2023 and Williams' offenses occurred from 2019-2022, he was not arrested until Monday. Ch
