The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is investigating a death that took place in the early morning in the city’s northeast.
At approximately 2 a.m. on Monday, December 8, police received reports of a stabbing in the area of 80 Street and 117 Avenue. When police arrived at the residence, they found a 19-year-old male in medical distress.
Officers provided first aid until EMS arrived and took over the medical care. Unfortunately, the male was declared deceased at the scene.
A short time later, a 21-year-old male was taken into custody in the area of Jasper Avenue and 101 Street. The victim and the suspect were known to one another.
An investigation has been turned over to the EPS Homicide section, with an autopsy scheduled for today.
