Picard is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student at Maloney several years ago.

The school district notified police as soon as it learned about the allegations, police said.

The student has since graduated, they said.

Picard resigned from her position in August, according to police.

She is charged with five counts of second-degree sexual assault. She was released on $25,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 16.
