Video captured a terrifying moment when a commuter train hit the front end of a car at a suburban intersection.

Hinsdale, Illinois, police released the footage just over an hour after the crash took place Monday, according to NBC Chicago . Advertisement

The video showed that the car had stopped at the intersection, but its front end extended onto the tracks. The train hit the car's front end as it passed, causing the vehicle to spin out.

According to police, the driver was the only person in the vehicle at the time. They were taken to a local hospital for "very minor injuries."

The train involved was mechanically disabled, and passengers were transferred to another train.
