Authorities have arrested a former East Jefferson High School teacher accused of carrying on a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old student.

Blake Hazeltine, 27, of Des Allemands, was booked Friday with molestation of a victim between the ages of 13 and 16, indecent behavior with a juvenile and felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile, according to Sgt. Brandon Veal, spokesperson for the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office.

Hazeltine was working as a math teacher at East Jefferson in Metairie when he met the female victim, according to authorities.

The Jefferson Parish Public School System on Tuesday said he is no longer an employee of the district.
