CORVALLIS, Ore. - A flood watch is in effect for Benton County through Thursday, Dec. 11. According to Benton County officials, residents should prepare for potential flooding and winter weather.
Benton County Emergency Management, Public Works, and Community Development urge community members to follow local authority guidance. They also recommend signing up for emergency alerts as rain increases and water levels rise.
“Flooding can happen quickly, including in areas that don’t flood often,” said Toby Lewis, Benton County floodplain administrator. “Small steps like keeping your foundation vents clear, moving valuables off the floor and staying informed can make a big difference in how your home or business weathers a storm.”
