1Baltimore man arrested in connection with two Central District shootings

Baltimore, MD — A 20-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with two separate shootings that occurred in Baltimore’s Central District earlier this year, police announced Monday.

Davon Matthews was taken into custody on December 8 in the 2200 block of Westwood Avenue. He is charged with attempted first-degree murder and first-degree assault in connection with shootings on July 12 and September 14 that left two men injured.

The first shooting happened just after midnight on July 12 in the 400 block of South Broadway. Officers responding to a report of gunfire found a 24-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was taken to the hospital with injuries that were considered non-life-thre
