Initial designs for the new East Falmouth Library were presented to the Select Board on December 1.
Taking feedback from two community forums on September 30 and November 5, Oudens Ello Architecture drew up the designs for a new one-floor library.
The nearly 9,000-square-foot library features floor-to-ceiling windows, a screened porch, a multipurpose room accessible during after-hours for meetings and community events, and individual study rooms.
A building's basement will house the electrical and water service equipment and be available for general storage.
Select Board vice chairwoman Heather M.H. Goldstone describes the design as “gorgeous” and similar to a nature center. “I love that,” she said.
