Charges have been dropped against Charles MacKay, a Santa Fe native who led the Santa Fe Opera for a decade, and who was arrested in March after being accused of propositioning two teenagers for sex in Powell, Wyo.
A clerk with the Park County Circuit Court in Wyoming confirmed the case was closed, but noted its documents would be sealed given the nature of the allegations against MacKay of felony-level sex charges involving minors. MacKay, who served as the opera's general director, was originally charged with four felonies.
Park County Prosecuting Attorney Bryan Skoric was leading the case against MacKay, one clerk with his office told The New Mexican. Skoric did not respond to multiple inquiries into MacKay's case.
