City council members say they’re confident with the plan to house homeless people in a southeast London farm field, even as some flag concerns about the site being operated by a security firm.
All council members, sitting as the strategic priorities and policy committee, heard an update Tuesday from city staff regarding the site plan and the newly selected operator for the micro-shelter campus at Max Brose Drive and Cheese Factory Road, near Highbury Avenue and Highway 401.
While not much was said on the layout of the site itself, both members of the public and politicians had lots to say about the city’s selection of national security firm Xpera as site operator instead of a local agency.
