OMAHA, Neb. —

A Douglas County judge bound the suspect in a deadly shooting at an Omaha park to District Court for trial. Tranell Woodruff , 18, waived his preliminary appearance Tuesday.

Woodruff is facing first-degree murder and use of a firearm to commit a felony. Prosecutors alleged Woodruff shot a gun at Dequrae Murrel's car, hitting her in the back of the head.

Omaha police said Murrel was found just on Oct. 5 at Kelly's Liquor on North 30th Street. They believe she was shot at Levi Carter Park.

A judge denied bond for Woodruff in an earlier hearing. No trial date has been set yet for Woodruff.
