Cass County deputies arrested an Omaha man accused of leading law enforcement on a chase involving a stolen trash truck.
The Cass County Sheriff's Office says deputies were called to Beaver Lake Casey's store Monday after a report of a possibly intoxicated man trying to steal liquor shooters. Deputies say the man left in a Dale's Trash Service truck, which was reported stolen from Douglas County.
Deputies later tried to pull over the suspect, Taylor Shanks, 35, near Highway 75 and NE-66, but they say he took off. Shanks allegedly crashed into a vehicle that had pulled onto the shoulder. He was arrested after turning into the Hy-Vee Gas Station parking lot in Plattsmouth.
Deputies booked Shanks on multiple charges, including possession of a stolen vehicle and willful reckless driving.
