Mumbai ’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport ( CSMIA ) was one of the worst affected airports during this period as IndiGo flights across the country were cancelled between December 1 and 8. A senior official from the Ministry of Civil Aviation visited the airport on Tuesday, December 9, to review the situation.

The disruptions were linked to IndiGo’s crew rostering issues. This led to one of the biggest aviation breakdowns in recent years. Passengers at Mumbai Airport experienced large-scale delays and cancellations.

At Mumbai airport alone, IndiGo had scheduled 3,171 flights during the eight-day period. Out of these, 905 flights were cancelled. This resulted in a high cancellation rate of 28.53 per cent.
