Mandy Hendry landed at Manchester Airport from Thailand and at first told Border Force officers she had cigarettes in a suitcase, before later saying she did have something to declare

A mum-of-three brought more than £50,000 worth of drugs back to the UK in exchange for a free holiday in Thailand, a court heard.

Mandy Hendry was stopped by Border Force officers at Manchester Airport earlier this year and told them she thought there were 200 cigarettes in the large pink suitcase she had with her. But later as she passed through the 'nothing to declare' gate, she admitted: "I actually do have something to declare - I think there is cannabis inside."

The 35-year-old pleaded guilty to the fraudulent evasion of the importation of a class B drug, namely cannabis. She told Manchester Crown
