Two Ocean County hospitals were placed into lockdown after bomb threats were called in on Tuesday, Dec. 9, authorities said.
Law enforcement responded to the threats called into Community Medical Center in Toms River and Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus in Lakewood, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said.
Both hospitals were placed on lockdown, and sweeps of both facilities were conducted by the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit with negative results, Billhimer said.
The hospitals were subsequently reopened, Billhimer said.
The bomb threats are currently under investigation, Billhimer said.
