The New Orleans Book Festival at Tulane University has released its official 2026 festival poster, an original work by Louisiana artist Francis X. Pavy with an assist from Pavy's daughter, Annabelle, who created the poster's typography.
The poster shows a reader silhouetted on a wrought-iron balcony at sunset, overlooking a cityscape of New Orleans. it has an 80s retro vibe that recalls classic posters for the 1984 Louisiana World Exposition, Jazz Fest and the Crescent City Classic race.
“My goal in creating this image was to capture a specific New Orleans feeling: the quiet solitude of being lost in a book, yet having the vibrant magic of the French Quarter right at an arm’s length,” Pavy said in a prepared statement.
