SANTA CRUZ — It is that time of year when many people are preoccupied with one thing: deciding what gifts to buy for their loved ones this holiday season.
For those with a high appreciation for art, there is a place in Santa Cruz that has plenty of potential gifts in abundance, and it is not a store. It is the Tannery Arts Center, which hosts its annual Winter Art Market Saturday.
The Winter Art Market, now in its 13th year, is one of two annual events where artists sell handmade goods at the Tannery Arts Center, the other being its Spring Art Market in May. Bree Karpavage, the Tannery’s program manager, said the winter market differs because it is very focused on the artists residing in the Tannery’s lofts.
