The Princess of Wales held a grand Christmas carol service last Friday (December 5), with over 1,600 guests invited to the event.

However, some internet sleuths were quick to realise one member of the family was notably absent.

Pippa Middleton, the sister of the future Queen, was not at Westminster Abbey, but the reason why has now been revealed.

She was spotted in Abu Dhabi with her husband James Matthews, 50, over the weekend.
