PEARL CITY (Island News) -- Colby Kisaba and his five-year-old son Cole often have to dodge speeding cars to get to soccer practice at the park across the street from their home.
"Cars speed up and down the road constantly," he said. "I would say it's a scary situation."
The speed limit on Kaahumanu Street in Pearl City is 25 miles an hour, but neighbors said drivers often race up and down this road at double the speed limit.
"There's been quite a bit of close calls here," a neighbor said. "We have a big regional park here, and at times we have 1000s of kids and parents with their functions and it's a struggle for them just to cross the street."
"A kid on a bike got hit at the stoplight on Komo Mai and a couple got hit up the street just a few houses up," Kisaba added.
