AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - An Amarillo man is accused of stealing significant amounts of beef jerky.

A Potter County grand jury indicted Lucas Lee Mack, 30, for three separate charges of theft of property less than $2,500 with previous convictions.

The offense is a state jail felony. In Texas, a state jail felony carries a punishment range of up to 2 years in a state jail facility.

The date of the offenses are given as Sept. 4, Sept. 12, and Sept. 27.

On those dates, Mack “did then and there, unlawfully appropriate, by acquiring or otherwise exercising control over property, namely, beef jerky” from the owner.

Mack has two convictions for theft in July 2025, also in Potter County. These convictions served to enhance his current charges to a state felony.
