GOSHEN – A 19-year-old Newburgh man who admitted he illegally possessed a loaded gun, was sentenced in Orange County Court in connection with the shooting of another man in Newburgh.
It was alleged that on February 11, 2025 at about 11:30 a.m., Ja’Mir Santana got out of a vehicle on Chambers Street and fired several shots at another person before running away.
The victim was struck several times in the lower extremities but recovered from his injuries.
“Brazen gunplay in our communities is unacceptable and we must employ all resources available to identify and prosecute the perpetrators responsible,” said District Attorney David Hoovler.
