TOWN OF WALLKILL – A 70-year-old Wallkill town resident was arrested early on Thursday afternoon, December 4 for firing a rifle at his residence at 213 Kings Road with the intent to threaten a healthcare worker.
John Cieslewitz was subsequently charged with menacing, reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a weapon, and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling.
Under an extreme risk protection order, officers searched the residence and recovered 13 rifles and ammunition.
Cieslewitz was released pending a future town court appearance and an Orange County Supreme Court hearing for an extreme risk protection order.
