HARDIN COUNTY, Ky. (Wall Street Journal/WAVE) - South Korean battery maker SK On and Ford Motor company will dissolve their partnership. This will result in Ford taking full ownership of Blue Oval SK in Hardin County, Kentucky.
The Wall Street Journal reports that Ford will take full ownership of its BlueOval SK plants as the demand for Electric Vehicles slows worldwide. According to the report, Ford will take the two Kentucky plants.
SK On will pivot its Tennessee plant and began a reevaluation of what is produced at the plant and will likely restructure the plant to be geared toward energy storage.
