The government is pledging to halve the number of long-term rough sleepers in the next five years, with what it’s calling a “bold new National Plan”.
It also aims to end the unlawful use of bed and breakfasts for families and prevent more households becoming homeless.
But with almost four hundred thousand people in England expected to spend this Christmas without a home, housing charities say the plan falls short.
We joined the housing secretary as he announced the plans.
