According to the centre's CEO, the Drop-In is seeing an average of 150 new clients each month who have never experienced homelessness before.
The Calgary Drop-In Centre is aiming to raise $2 million this holiday season to support its programs and services, as it continues to serve more and more clients who are new to homelessness.
The “aggressive target” is part of an annual fundraising push during the holidays to increase public awareness, support and donations, according to Sandra Clarkson, the Drop-In Centre’s CEO.

Funds raised until the end of January will not only support the emergency shelter’s operations and programming, but allow the non-profit to pursue innovative ways to support clientele and help them transition out of homelessness, Clarkson said.
