FLINT, MI - A beloved eatery on the city’s east side is preparing to close its doors after nine years of serving families, students and regulars who helped turn the small restaurant into a community staple.
In an emotional farewell posted Dec. 8 on Facebook , Cocina Mio owner Victoria Coronado announced the restaurant at 3322 Davison Road will shut down before the start of the new year, calling the decision “one of the hardest” she has ever made.
The final day of operations will be on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24
The restaurant, known for its tacos, birria and homestyle Mexican dishes, opened with the dream of creating a place grounded in passion and community, Coronado wrote.
