A winter storm watch was released by the National Weather Service on Friday at 4:38 a.m. valid from Saturday 2 p.m. until Monday 2 a.m. for Warren and McKean counties.
The weather service states, "Heavy lake effect snow possible. Total snow accumulations up to 6 inches possible in areas impacted by heavier lake effect snow bands."
"Plan on slippery road conditions," states the weather service. "During lake effect snow, the weather can vary from bands of locally heavy snow to dry weather just a few miles away. Visibilities can also vary greatly. Be prepared for rapid changes in weather, visibility, and road conditions."
