LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A former school counselor has filed a lawsuit against Archangels Catholic High School in Platte County alleging she was fired for reporting a male teacher with grooming complaints.

Melissa Braun filed the suit on Thursday in Platte County District Court.

According to the suit, Braun was contacted by multiple parents of eighth grade students on March 27 with concerns that a male teacher shared “highly inappropriate sexual and obscene materials” with their children.

The parents later told Braun they believed the school administrators were being unresponsive, failing to protect their children and were not taking appropriate remedial action in response to the complaints, the suit shows. She encouraged them to contact the school superintendent and principal.
