A McMinn County deputy transporting an arrestee to the jail was involved in a crash on Ingleside Avenue in Athens, Sheriff Joe Guy says.

It happened Saturday afternoon, December 13.

"Reports from the scene indicate that another vehicle pulled out in front of the deputies vehicle," Sheriff Guy said in a Facebook post. "A crash investigation is underway and Our prayers are with all involved."

A picture included in his post show airbags deployed in the patrol car, and a vehicle flipped over near a stop sign.
