Michigan’s three most-populous counties accounted for 12 of the state’s 20 most dangerous intersections in 2024.
Macomb, Oakland and Wayne counties each had four intersections make the list, followed by Ingham with three, Ottawa with two, and Washtenaw, Kent and Isabella counties with one each.
No intersection had more crashes than N. Hamilton Street and Washtenaw Avenue in Ypsilanti, where 117 collisions were reported, according to Michigan Traffic Crash Facts.
In total, there were 288,880 crashes reported across the state in 2024. That was a slight increase from 2023.
Below is the list of the 20 most dangerous intersections last year based on the total number of crashes that occurred within the intersection.
20: E. Broomfield Road and S. Mission Road
